Sen JT Useni Wins Big at the Plateau Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, Jos
The Tribunal today agreed with the Counsel to Sen JT Useni that a witness whose statement on oath has already been front loaded in a Petition but not listed can be allowed to testify at the Tribunal.
The Tribunal therefore overruled the objections by counsel to INEC, Lalong and APC which sought to stop a PDP witness,
Baba Ali Adam, whose name had carried an acronym “AAQ” from testifying.
They had based their objections on Paragraph 4 (5) of the First Schedule of the Electoral Act which provides that an Election Petition shall be accompanied by a list of witnesses among other things.
But Useni’s Counsel had countered, describing the objection as a gross misconception of the Electoral Act which gave the tribunal all directions on all matters concerning witnesses.
The Tribunal, in a ruling read by the Chairman,
Hon Justice HA Saleeman, agreed with the position of the Petitioners’ counsel. The Tribunal relied on Paragraph 53 (1) of the First Schedule of the Electoral Act which provides that non-compliance with the rule of practice shall not render any proceeding void unless the tribunal so directs.
The Chairman equally cited other authorities, and therefore refused the objections of the Respondents’ counsel and ordered that the witness Baba Ali Adam, aka ‘AAQ’ should proceed to give his testimony.
She said there is need to do substantial justice to the petition before the tribunal.
Meantime, the tribunal has reserved ruling on another objection by the Respondents’ counsel seeking to stop the same witness from testifying on INEC Form EC8A (Statement of Results) saying he did not refer to the form in his deposition.
However, the tribunal agreed with the position of Counsel to Sen Useni, Barr EG Pwajok, SAN, that stopping the witness at this point will deny the Petitioners “substantial justice” . Hon Justice Saleeman therefore reserved ruling until at the final judgement.
These landmark rulings clear the way for Sen Useni and the PDP to bring in their witnesses and so meet up with the time limit set for the tribunal to complete its assignment.

On a sad note,
An NDII student of the department of Elect/Elect was killed in an accident around Poly small gate in the evening.
28th June 2019 It was an unfortunate event.
While in the protest that almost lead to fight but burning of tires only,
the village head (Sarkin Yanma) came pleading with the student while they all insisted and blocked the road,
he politically played along by leading to block the road,
creating one lane as to make every vehicle to slow down, initially the road has speed bumps, which bauchi riders has not been respecting from day one, and now eventually removed,
Having a complete speed lane that lead to the unfortunate ugly occurrence, that made the students to go on protest,
even the police that came couldn't help anything,
At long last the school rector has to come down and made some reasonable speech,
finally agreement with the Poly students that speed bumps will be mounted effectively Monday, ...

Your Results Are Ready But… JAMB Announces To 1.8 Million 2019 UTME Candidates, Reveals When Results Will Be Released
The result of the 2019 University Tertiary Matriculation Examination is being ratified prequel to its being released even though it is ready, so says the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The body tasked with the screening and preparation of tertiary education candidates says it is intensifying efforts to ensure that the 2019 UTME examination results are released after the Easter break and would reach out to candidates subsequently via their registered telephone numbers as soon as the results are ratified.
This was made known to the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday by the board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
According to him, candidates should not be carried away by what he described as rumours and misleading information in some sections of the media, especially the social media.

NAN reports that the 2019 UTME was conducted nationwide from Thursday, April 11 to Wednesday, April 18.

“The board wants to distance itself from such rumours about releasing the results of candidates of the just-concluded UTME and steps to check these results as being speculated.
“Candidates should disregard this information, as it is not true. It is not emanating from the board.

“No results have been released yet. Yes, the results are all ready, but we are yet to release them because they are still being ratified.
“The board is carrying out all the checks and balances regarding these results by way of viewing the CCTV camera as well as attend to all findings brought before it while the examination lasted.

“The release of the result will be publicised as soon as we are through with all the board has set out to achieve. We will let the public know
“Candidates should not bother themselves going to any cyber cafe to check any result.

“Our result check has been standardised. We will forward the results to the respective telephone numbers of those candidates who are deserving of it,” he said.
He said that the board was intensifying efforts to ensure that results of deserving candidates were released by next week.

SHAME: Hausa Actresses Fight Each Other Over Lesbianism
Two Hausa actresses have recently taken brought the Arewa Movie industry under scrutiny with accusations, tantrums and counter accusations over what is believed to be forbidden by the culture of the Arewa community – lesbianism.
Kannywood actress, Amina Muhammad, popularly known as Amina Amal, was said to have accused her colleague in the industry, Hadiza Gabon of lesbianism.
Amina who is a Cameroonian-born actress, was recently criticised over her attire which exposed parts of her body. After the backlash, she took to social media to gave a sound warning to her colleague whom she accused of being a bad person..
According to the actress, the accused person who loves being percieved as a good person by the public – has skeletons in her cupboard. She accused her colleague of lesbianism as she shared screenshots of their purported chat.
Hadiza Gabon who felt the accusations were directed at her, later confronted Amina yesterday and beat her over the issue which has been trending online.
Watch video below:
This is not the only controversy trailing Kannywood as few days ago, popular actor, Adam Zango, drew a battle line with those he claimed were insulting his mother in and outside the industry.
Zango posted on his Instagram page @adam_a_zango, “A mother isn’t better than a mother, and since you made your boys insult my mother, I will surely insult yours too. I waited to see your reaction to what your boys did but there was none.”
In the post, the actor and industry’s famous singer, Zango tagged Ali Nuhu and that triggered a lot of suspicion as to whether Zango was referring to Ali Nuhu in particular or not.
In another post, the actor wrote, “I have made a screen shot of every insult you made to me and I shall respond to anyone, then we will see who is more disrespectful in Kannywood.”
The actor further revealed that he has no supporter in the industry due to his bad habits and disregard for upcoming artistes.
Earlier, Zango posted a video of two Kannywood producers Aminu Bala and Kawu Kamfa, insulting someone whose name they never mentioned.

The video showed the two of them sitting close to each other and Aminu was warning someone that he was superior too saying that he respects his mother.
Kamfa then interrupted saying that the person they were referring to, had no regard for his mother, whose call he hardly picks
