2 things Lalong did for Ondo State after the killings of Fulani in Jos that should be commendable

The attack on Fulani travellers in Jos, Plateau State who were returning from an Islamic function in Bauchi about a week ago has still left many Nigerians in a devastated state, where some had begun to express their fear over the safety of their lives.

This attack was gruesome because it cost the lives of about 23 of those innocent Fulani travellers while leaving others injured after their bus conveying them to their destination in Ondo State was stopped.

The act has gotten security operatives in Jos and other neighbouring states on high alert to help apprehend all those responsible for such a heinous deed, and so far, the Plateau State government had begun to take necessary actions, one of such was the implementation of the State curfew.

Though, it's quite unfortunate that the State government can't do anything to bring back those that had died during the attack, but there could be something else that could not just bring a sense of empathy towards the family of the slain Fulani travellers and those who had luckily survive to witness the horrible ordeal, but could also show the willingness to unify Nigeria, during this painful moment.

With such understanding, the Governor of Plateau State, Governor Simon Lalong, did two great things to the people of Ondo State where the slain Fulani travellers were returning to, according to a verified publication, and as such, the act should be commendable because of what it stands to achieve.

Firstly, Governor Lalong of Plateau made a heartfelt apology to the people of Ondo, and the entire government for the gruesome attack that took place in his State. Those slain Fulani travellers had families or loved ones, and were only returning after their Islamic functions.

The Governor's apology as a leader shows how willing he is to maintain the unified and peaceful state of Nigeria, and such an apology may certainly calm the Ondo people who may be grieving over such an unfortunate incident, and as such, it should be highly commendable.

Secondly, Governor Lalong didn't just apologize, but openly expressed how empathetic everyone is towards the attack on the Fulani travellers, where he ordered delegates, and other high people in political positions of his state to safely deliver those who had survived the attack.

The 30 survivors were delivered to their respective families or loved ones under the care of the government of Plateau State, and this shows extreme concern and love towards humanity, and as such, the act should be commendable.

This two humane actions from Lalong will no doubt prove how our leaders will do all it takes to make Nigeria a safe place for us all. What's your opinion towards this? Put your thoughts in the comment section below.
