Group ask EFCC to investigate Abia INEC returning officer Prof Nnenna Otti.

Members of the Abia Renaissance Initiative (ARI) has called on the Chairman of the Economic and Financial crimes commission (EFCC) Abdurasheed Bawa  to immediately investigate the activities of the 2023 Governorship returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for Abia State Prof Nnenna Otti.

The group call was contained in a statement endorsed by Chief Obinna Martins and made available to our correspondent on Thursday, they asked EFCC to investigate her bank accounts before, during and after the Governorship election in Abia State.

The group accused Prof Nnenna Otti of accepting to come to Abia during the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections for a hatchet job.

"This woman is claiming glory for what she did not do. She is merely a returning officer whose job is to add up and announce what has been collated. If there is any “hero” it will be those who collated results in the LGAs, passed to her and not a mere returning officer"

"We are also aware that she was handpicked by one of the contestants in Abia and paid to do a particular job. Let EFCC check her bank account in the past 6 months and see if indeed she didn’t receive money from two candidates for governorship election"

He accused Prof Nnenna Otti of pretending so much with her excessive comic videos and false accusations against those she claims wanted to bribe her.

"She is a pretender only and the tribunal cases will expose her claims to be false" the statement concluded.
