The aggrieved members chanted solidarity songs and held placards with messages such as "INEC, stop your rascality now," "Judiciary, save our democracy from INEC impunity," and "INEC, obey Justice Agbaza's order," among others.

Speaking to representatives of INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, the National Chairman of AA, Chief Kenneth Udeze, claimed that INEC always prefers to obey court orders even when it was obvious that favourable cases were always decided by the authentic party executive.

Buhari’s Visit: ‘We are winning’, says Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer

In his first working visit to Imo State since winning a second term, President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday said it was absurd to him that any Igbo man would be considering exiting Nigeria as the region dominates the economy of the country. The president also assured that at the end of his eight-year tenure in May 2023, most economic and security challenges faced by the country would have been addressed.

The president made the assertions in Owerri at a town hall meeting with Southeast leaders, which was the first time Imo would host a president on a working visit since 2009.

“It is unthinkable for me that any Igbo man would consider himself not to be a part of Nigeria. The evidence is there for everyone to see that Igbos are in charge of Nigeria’s economy,” he said.
Buhari also said he wanted to be remembered as the president who stabilised the Nigerian security and economic situations and delivered prosperity and triumphs over corruption. The president reiterated his commitment to credible and fair elections in 2023 and promised to complete the Second Niger Bridge as well as other ongoing federal projects in the Southeast geo-political zone.

Meanwhile, The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, is amazed by the resoluteness of IPOB members, his lead counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has said. This is as he also said that officials of the Department of State of Service no longer treat Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyers in a despicable manner. He said this after the legal team visited the separatist leader in DSS custody on Thursday, the same day the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), visited Imo State.

The PUNCH reports that as a form of protest, IPOB ordered a sit-at-home during Buhari’s visit. During the visit, Buhari wondered why some Igbo men are clamouring for separation. He described as “unthinkable” attempts by any Igbo man to leave the country. The lawyer had earlier faulted the reasons given by officials of the Department of State Services for stopping lawyers from visiting the IPOB leader.

In an update about the Thursday visit, the lawyer said, “I visited Our indefatigable Client-Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the company of his younger brother- Prince Emmanuel Kanu (Fine Boy), in apparent compliance with the guidelines for our routine visits.

“Our Client- Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has always been in a good spirit and his convictions have remained unwavering.

“We had far-reaching discussions that pertained to our professional services, and family concerns which were all addressed.

“He is amazed and impressed by the resoluteness of his millions of supporters and lovers of freedom. He is indeed, lacking in words to convey the depth of his gratitude and appreciation to you all.

“I am glad to inform millions of our supporters, wellwishers and Umuchineke, that following the outrage that greeted the despicable manner in which we were treated in the past weeks during these routine visits, the officials of the State Security Service have made a volte-face.

“We cannot hesitate to alert the world should there be any further change in their methodology, any day any time.

“Our Client- Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was very much impressed with the level of progress so far recorded by the legal team ably led by my humble self, and other people of good conscience.
Other details that may interest you further, shall remain private, as details of our legal strategy have been agreed to remain private.

“Be assured that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Never you lack focus but intensify your prayers for our dear Client-Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and all of us in the legal team. Forward ever and backward never, until victory is achieved. We are winning.”

BREAKING NEWS: Major abducted from NDA by Bandits found dead

The military officer Major Christopher Datong abducted today at Nigerian Defence Academy, Afaka in Kaduna has been murdered. According to reports, his body was found on Tuesday evening, hours after he was captured by bandits. The abductors reportedly demanded N200 million to set him free. Datong who was from Pankshin in Plateau state, was born 4 January, 1978. One of the photographs circulating in the social media showed the officer with his pregnant wife.

The security breach of the Nigerian Defence Academy triggered shock across the nation , with people wondering if any one is really safe if bandits could operate so freely inside an elite military institution.

NDA’s Public Relations Officer, Major Bashir Muhd Jajira, who reported the attack earlier said two soldiers were killed..

A statement sent by Jajira said:

“The security architecture of the Nigerian Defence Academy was compromised early this morning by unknown gunmen who gained access into the residential area within the Academy in Afaka. During the unfortunate incident, we lost two personnel and one was abducted.

“The Academy in collaboration with the 1Division Nigerian Army and Air Training Command as well as other security agencies in Kaduna state has since commenced pursuit of the unknown gunmen within the general area with a view to tracking them and rescue the abducted personnel.

“The NDA community and Cadets are safe in the Academy. We assure the general public that these unknown gunmen would soon be apprehended and the abducted personnel rescued.”

Speaker of Kaduna State House of Assembly, Alhaji Yusuf Zailani, has described the invasion as an assault on the country’s territorial integrity

Zailani, who stated this in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ibrahim Danfulani, in Kaduna, on Tuesday, said that the incident must be treated with all seriousness and thoroughly investigated.

The speaker described NDA as the premier training citadel for members of Nigeria’s armed forces and pride to the country and Africa.

He said the attack on such an institution was unacceptable and must be investigated by the military hierarchy.

“It is disheartening and unfortunate for such an attack to have taken place, catching those in charge of its internal security off-guard,” Zailani said.

While commending security personnel for making efforts to decimate bandits and insurgents nationwide, he said that they should not let the NDA incident demoralise them.

“I sincerely commiserate with the families of those who lost their lives.

“I am, however, pleased that the NDA authorities have given assurance that the assailants are being trailed and that they will be apprehended,” the speaker added

2 things Lalong did for Ondo State after the killings of Fulani in Jos that should be commendable

The attack on Fulani travellers in Jos, Plateau State who were returning from an Islamic function in Bauchi about a week ago has still left many Nigerians in a devastated state, where some had begun to express their fear over the safety of their lives.

Photo Credit: Vanguard News (Governor Lalong)

This attack was gruesome because it cost the lives of about 23 of those innocent Fulani travellers while leaving others injured after their bus conveying them to their destination in Ondo State was stopped.

The act has gotten security operatives in Jos and other neighbouring states on high alert to help apprehend all those responsible for such a heinous deed, and so far, the Plateau State government had begun to take necessary actions, one of such was the implementation of the State curfew.

Though, it's quite unfortunate that the State government can't do anything to bring back those that had died during the attack, but there could be something else that could not just bring a sense of empathy towards the family of the slain Fulani travellers and those who had luckily survive to witness the horrible ordeal, but could also show the willingness to unify Nigeria, during this painful moment.

With such understanding, the Governor of Plateau State, Governor Simon Lalong, did two great things to the people of Ondo State where the slain Fulani travellers were returning to, according to a verified publication, and as such, the act should be commendable because of what it stands to achieve.

Photo Credit: JatsOnlineNews (Delegates from Plateau State)

Firstly, Governor Lalong of Plateau made a heartfelt apology to the people of Ondo, and the entire government for the gruesome attack that took place in his State. Those slain Fulani travellers had families or loved ones, and were only returning after their Islamic functions.

The Governor's apology as a leader shows how willing he is to maintain the unified and peaceful state of Nigeria, and such an apology may certainly calm the Ondo people who may be grieving over such an unfortunate incident, and as such, it should be highly commendable.

Secondly, Governor Lalong didn't just apologize, but openly expressed how empathetic everyone is towards the attack on the Fulani travellers, where he ordered delegates, and other high people in political positions of his state to safely deliver those who had survived the attack.

Photo Credit: JatsOnlineNews (Survivors Been Delivered To Ondo State)

The 30 survivors were delivered to their respective families or loved ones under the care of the government of Plateau State, and this shows extreme concern and love towards humanity, and as such, the act should be commendable.

This two humane actions from Lalong will no doubt prove how our leaders will do all it takes to make Nigeria a safe place for us all. What's your opinion towards this? Put your thoughts in the comment section below.

The Arrest Of Likita Who Was Carrying 260 Bullets And Other Weapons To Plateau State Is A Good Thing

The security challenges in Nigeria has caused a lot of tension in some areas within the country. Also, many states are protecting their boundaries from bandits and other criminals in Nigeria.

Recently, a man (Likita) was arrested by the Nigerian police in Nasarawa state and he was caught with some weapons (52 magazines and over 200 live ammunition).

However, Likita revealed that he was going to Plateau State with the weapons before he was arrested. He also disclosed that his colleagues are on their way to Jos.

Nevertheless, here are 2 reasons the arrest of Likita is a good thing.

The Arrest Of Likita Will Help Police To Apprehend His Colleagues That Are On Their Way To Plateau State.

The Nigerian police can use the information gotten from Likita to arrest his colleagues that are on their way to Plateau State.

So, the Nigerian police should ask Likita some questions to know where his colleagues are going to stay in Plateau State.

The Arrest Of Likita Will Make Security Officers To Be Alert And Conscious.

Another reason the arrest of Likita is a good thing is because it will help security officers in Plateau State to be ready of any attack within the state.
